Dear Committee Staff,
Our family is writing to you today in support of AB 492. DHCS licensed SUD treatment residential facilities and unlicensed Recovery Residences have different behaviors than those of typical family settings, with people who sometimes demonstrate mentally altered behaviors that can appear dangerous or even frightening to the untrained. It is important that cities be made aware when new facilities are placed in their jurisdictions to ensure emergency health services and law enforcement properly engage when encountering treatment clients, for the safety of those in recovery. Please support AB 492 when it goes before the Health Committee.
Thank you.
