Subject: Support AB 424
Dear Committee Staff,
The Department of Health Care Services is supposed to serve the public good. Unfortunately, it presently does not notify people who go to the trouble to file complaints about the facilities it licenses of the status of their complaints. AB 424 is just common sense because it ensures DHCS communicates with the broader public about its otherwise secretive operations. That's just common sense and good government relations. Note that DSS does a far better job of this already, so we know it is possible. Our family fully supports AB 424.
Thank you.
