Subject: Support AB 1356 (Dixon)
Dear Committee Staff,
Our family is writing in support of AB 1356. DHCS' death reporting policy fails to treat the death of a person in a state licensed treatment facility or a state certified treatment program with the level of gravitas and meticulousness it deserves. This is the worst form of stigma. AB 1356 requires the operator to submit a second report, 60 days after the first report is created, that reviews the operator's implementation of follow up plans and any additional details learned since the death took place. We ask that legislators support this common sense bill.
